Somewhere in Southern England PT2/3
The programme was commissioned by the Hop Farm Country Park and was made to appeal to a main stream television audience. At the time David and I worked for the local television news network and there was a reasonable chance we could get this programme on air. However when the camera crew, who mistakenly thought they had an invitation to the VIP tent were thrown out David who did have an invitation left in protest. After that any idea of getting the programme on ITV was trashed along with the bottle of Spitfire the soundman had removed from him. For over nine years David and attended the War and Peace show with his close friend Graham (Hairy) Both would spend hour after hour wandering the stalls looking for those little bargains that escape most people. Whatever you wanted David knew where to find it and could even get you a discount. Such was the charisma of David. However working with David for Meridian News could be a nightmare, he could never sit still for five minutes and would be in and out of the edit suite like a yo yo. Editing this version for youtube was uncannily like working with David again and I could almost hear his jives and sardonic comments as I struggled to decide what to take out. You could be a pain in the arse sometimes David but those that worked with you, loved you. God Bless.

Somewhere in Southern England PT3/3
"Somewhere in Southern England" is the last of the tributes to my old friend David Forsdike who sadly is no longer with us. For over nine years David and attended the War and Peace show with his close friend Graham (Hairy) Both would spend hour after hour wandering the stalls looking for those little bargains that escape most people.
