The DVD ‘The Forgotten Battalion’ was created in 2009 by independent filmmaker John Sushams, to coincide with Ian Gardner’s critically acclaimed WW2 book ‘Tonight We Die As Men’. Told by the men who were there, this ninety-minute high production value documentary, features hundreds of previously unpublished photographs together with original combat footage from the period. Eight veterans from the Third Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division, give a detailed account of what it was like for them to jump into Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944 and the ferocious fighting that subsequently followed.

The ‘Ace of Spades playing card’ depicts the unit recognition symbol, displayed on the steel helmets by the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment during their service in WW2. Limited to 150 copies this glossy 7” x 5” card is signed by the following 3Bn veterans: Ralph Bennett, Mario ‘Hank’ DiCarlo, Bill Galbraith, John Gibson, Tom Kennedy, Bobbie Rommel, Ed Shames and Harold Stedman.
Additionally was are offering a very limited number of regular DVD’s signed on the reverse in silver by Ed Shames, who later went on to join the now legendary E Company made famous by Steven Spielberg’s HBO mini-series ‘Band of Brothers.’
