secretary of IMPS, IMPS website (imps.org.uk), WWI and WWII history, Humber vehicles, France (and speaking French), heritage railways.

History of Hobby - When and where did you start and how did you arrive where you are to-day?

How long have you been involved with War & Peace and in what capacity?

I blame my son really. We were visiting the Ardennes and came round a bend and there was this 'king great Tiger tank. We had to stop while my lad crawled all over it. This began his interest in military vehicles which, via model kits and Dorking Models, got me involved in IMPS. I bought my Humber Box from my best man's cousin when it became available in 1993. In between bouts of unserviceability I have taken it to Beltring, Béthune, Normandy and Biggin Hill most years since then.

As a friend of Tony Lawrence I have played a part in the organisation of War & Peace since 1990, mainly getting involved in traffic management, booking in, liaison and trouble shooting (especially involving French speakers). As IMPS newsletter editor for 2 years I took photos and wrote reports about the show for the newsletter and Imprint magazine, to which I still contribute.
