I was hoping someone attending this years Beltring show might be able to help me out with locating an original British WW2 P-37 Hi Power Twin Magazine Pouch. I would prefer a wartime dated example in decent condition but anything considered. Good price paid. I will be at stall J 4-5 for the duration of the show. If you have what I`m looking for, please feel welcome to drop by the stall and ask for Des Thomas or if you prefer you can contact me via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it (Please note: I wont be able to check emails during the show!) Thanks!

We are doing a documentary for Channel 5 about the dambusters. The programme is rather low budget so I'm looking for volunteers who would like to get involved in some reconstruction shooting we are hoping to do around the 23rd June for up to 3/4 days. The people would ideally need to live local to the Lincoln area (as we're shooting at an air museum in East Kirkby). We're looking for around 10-15 people to dress up in a mixture of Bomber Command gear/ground crew/RAF uniforms. (So looking for fit looking guys (and maybe a few girls for the Ops. room) in late teens/twenties). Also looking for someone who would be willing to help us out with costumes.

Best wishes,

Julie Duncan

The Hop Farm buildings are going to be taken back to 1942 for the 2002 War and Peace Show, on the theme of "the Hop Farm at War" and the organisation is proceeding apace. Many re-enactors have already been booked and assorted livestock, farm equipment and vintage vehicles will be imported for the occasion. This is a great opportunity, especially for civilian re-enactors and owners of wartime civilian vehicles, to play an active part in the show, in a situation which will give maximum exposure to the public and also give plenty of time off to enjoy the rest of the show.

In particular, Terry is looking for an "American" group willing to "adopt" the vehicles and buildings of the resident War and Peace Collection and turn it into a motor pool for the duration of the show. Where else could you get the opportunity to play with some seriously heavy metal for 5 days AND sleep indoors?

If any small groups or individual re-enactors want to take part in this authentic recreation they will be most welcome and should contact Terry Elliott on 0207 515 8981.

Calling all Past Winners! We are anxious to ensure that many of the best vehicles at the show receive the maximum public exposure. At present, it is often a lottery whether unsuspecting members of the public stumble upon the great and rare gems on offer, including unique "one-offs" and incredibly detailed restorations. When they do, they are often not aware that they are in the presence of such great and historic artefacts. Well that is all about to change with Terry's "Showcase" field. In particular, Terry plans to include a past winners enclosure containing vehicles which can rightly claim to be "the Best of the Best". This will be a fenced and guarded area where vehicles will be displayed during show opening hours together with information about the vehicle and its history. The unique site and associated security will allow owners to display related equipment, uniforms and other items with their vehicles with safety.
Attempts are being made to trace all past show and class winners to invite their participation but the farther back in time we go, the records get more sparse so if you don't hear from us and you won best whatever sometime in the last century, please get in touch!

There has been a lot of publicity for the Champ's 50th Anniversary, but let's not forget it is also the 50th anniversary of the Daimler Ferret. Merlin Jones has stepped forward to organise what will be known as "Ferrets at 50." Please us this page if you are a Ferret owner and wish to arrange a reunion or convoys to the show. We at War and Peace will provide as much assistance as possible in publicising any such events should one be arranged.

For more information please contact Merlin on (eves) 01903 207485.

I am looking for artefacts of German student societies that were taken back to States after the war. Steins, ribbons, porcelain pipes, wine glasses, basically anything that has the coat of arms of a German fraternity on it.

Many thanks in advance for your help

Theft from Guernsey’s German Occupation Museum
- Can you help?
The stunning German Occupation Museum of the beautiful Channel Island of Guernsey has been rocked by a rather unpalatable theft of one of its most important relics of the island’s 1940-45 war-time occupation by the forces of Nazi Germany.

On Friday September 21st, the steel helmet of former German Harbourmaster Kapitan Obermeyer was stolen from a locked glass case in the central display room in the museum and was the only item taken, despite other even more valuable items being displayed in the case, namely the helmet of German Channel Islands Kommandant General Graf von Schmettow, occasioning museum owner Richard Heaume to believe it was stolen to order on behalf of a helmet collector somewhere in our collecting fraternity.

A Jerseyman visiting the museum on that very same day was arrested on suspicion of involvement and questioned by the island’s police but was released due to lack of evidence, however is still believed that the helmet nevertheless has passed through Jersey on its way to a collector of Naziana who was happy to take the risk of buying obviously stolen property and unscrupulous enough to not worry about having such an enormously important island artefact in his collection

The helmet is instantly noticeable as it is a large size mint condition, double decal marine artillery helmet in pre-war apple green. In side is written Kapt Obermeyer, so if any collectors or dealers are subsequently offered this item, they would recognise it as being from our museum. I would like to make an appeal to Tomahawk Films Newsletter readers for any news and have put up a £500 ($725) reward for information leading to its safe return to the Museum.

To read about Museum visit the site at www.tomahawkfilms.com/

Collectors and enthusiasts who may not have had the opportunity of enjoying Guernsey’s superb German Occupation Museum can view many of Richard’s ultra-rare and much-prized artefacts, including Kapt Obermeyer’s helmet, in Tomahawk Films’ 50 minute video documentary ‘Channel Islands Occupied’ at www.tomahawkfilms.com/page_7.html.

Any collector or enthusiast with any helpful leads or news of this helmet are invited to contact Richard Heaume at the German Occupation Museum, Forest, Guernsey, telephone (44) 1481 238205 or Producer Brian Matthews at Tomahawk Films, PO Box 279, Winchester, Hampshire, U.K. telephone (44) 1962 714989 or e-mail him at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it '; document.write( '' ); document.write( addy_text4350 ); document.write( '<\/a>' ); //-->\n This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
