I eventually succumbed in 2001 and bought a 1944 Ford Airborne GPW Jeep from a nice man in Wales...

History of Hobby - When and where did you start and how did you arrive where you are to-day?

How long have you been involved with War & Peace and in what capacity?

I started in 1989 as Rex's PA when he was Events Secretary for the IMPS and have helped to organise the War and Peace Show ever since!

These days, I'm still responsible for all the booking in, and it's a year-round task - I make sure that all the entries are in and all the packs go out, and then I'm at the Showground for about a month - from at least three weeks before it starts, setting up and then booking in all the stalls and overseeing the booking in of the seemingly endless stream of over 3,000 vehicles, from Parabikes to the odd Sherman tank, the living history displays, the modellers, the campers and then selling Herb Miller tickets in my spare time (!!!). Up at all hours, I have a team of fabulous volunteer helpers who share the strain... including - Nick & Carena Crowhurst, Mudge, and many others, including our roving troubleshooter, Paul Shea... Sometimes, I even get to relax a bit, and you can find me propping up the bar in Ginger Gammon's Beer Tent with a whisky or two... all offers of drinks appreciated!!

This year, with a bit of luck, I might even find the time to take a turn in my Jeep around the arena, and maybe have a go at the Jeep See-saw- who knows?!!

See you at the show!
